Jude rested his head in his hands, tuning out the conversation the gang was having. He loved his friends and their conversations, but now he had something better to focus on.

"Jude. Hey, Jude. Jude!"

The blond jumped, falling out of his chair and hitting his head on the Lemon. He sat up and got back in his chair, rubbing his head.

"Dude, what was that for?!"

"Dude, what's going on. You've been ignoring us." Jonesy said, pointing at his best friend in an accusing manner.

"No I'm not!"

"Oh yeah? Then what were we talking about?" Nikki asked, a smirk playing around the corners of her lips.

"Um… Grindage?"

"No, we were talking about a movie night this weekend."

"Yeah!" Caitlin giggled, "Bring a date!"

"But I'm single." Jude said.

"So? It can't be that hard for you to find a date. I mean, even Wyatt has one!"

"Gee, thanks Caitlin." Wyatt said lamely.

"Why don't you just ask Starr?" Jen asked.

"She's goth now, remember?"

"Then find a new chick, dude! Just look around, there's tons!" Jonesy exclaimed, his arms in the air.

"But I don't want just any chick!"

"Then who?"

The gang stopped talking as Caitlin got a customer.

"Just a lemonade, please."

Jude's heart pounded in his chest as he saw you. He felt his mouth go dry when you smiled.

You waved at him, "Hey Jude!"

"H-h-h-h-hey, (Name)." Jude stuttered.

You giggled and paid Caitlin, "Thanks Caitlin. I'll see you guys later! Bye Jude."

You smiled at him again and walked away, drinking your lemonade before your shift.

"No way." Jonesy said, "You have a crush on (Name)?!"

"Yeah, so?"

"She's like, the hottest girl in school!"

"And she works at Taj Mahome Video! Do you know what would happen if Wayne found out?" Wyatt asked incredulously.

"She's just one of the dancers, dudes! ’Sides, s'not like I'm gonna get anywhere with her."

"You bet your sorry butt you won't! Hot, popular girls don't go for guys like us. They go for jocks."

"I think I know dude." Jude said blandly.

"Well I think Jude can totally get (Name)!" Jen argued, "I mean, she said hello to him and goodbye to him just now, so we know she knows he exists."

"Uh, she said goodbye to all of us." Jonesy pointed out.

"But she singled out Jude. Telltale sign of a crush according to this magazine, 'Just Girly Things'." Caitlin held up the magazine.

"I don't know, she's a nice girl and knows everybody. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but I wouldn't get your hopes up, Jude." Nikki said.

"Yeah, I know. Later dudes; gotta get to work before Wayne gets ticked."

Jude skated off and Caitlin sighed, "We've got to get Jude a date with her. He's crushing hard."

"I say we find him a more realistic date. There's no way a guy like Jude could get a girl like (Name). I love Jude and all, but it's not physically possible."

"I hate to say it, but Jonesy's right. Rich and popular girl with mellow skater dude? Not a chance." Nikki said.

"I guess you guys are right. But what if Jude can't find a date by this weekend?" Jen asked.

"I'm sure he will. Later guys; gotta get back to the Tacky Barn." Nikki stood up and left, leaving the rest of the gang.

"I guess I'll go too. Later guys." Wyatt stood up and headed over to Underground Video.

Once he got to Underground he saw Jude sitting at the opening on his board, looking into Taj Mahome Video, where you were donning the green Indian dancer outfit you let him borrow when Taj Mahome Video took over Underground.

"Dude, why don't you just ask her out?"

"I can't!"

"Come on Jude, it can't be that hard. (Name's) a cool chick, I'm sure she likes you too."

"Really?" Jude asked with hopeful blue eyes.

Wyatt smiled a little, "Yeah dude. Really."

"Sweet! Thanks, bro!"

Wyatt walked in the store and sat on the couch. He felt bad lying to Jude, but he was sure that you'd let him down easy.

"What's up with Jude? He's acting even weirder than usual." Wayne asked.

"He's got a crush."

"Oh, we've got a loverboy on our hands, huh? Who is the unlucky girl?"

"The most popular girl at school." Wyatt said plainly.

"Ooh, that's tough. Hope he takes rejection well!"

"So do I."

"So what's her name?"

"(Name) (Last Name). She works at Taj Mahome Video as one of the dancers."

"I'll let the infatuation with the enemy slide because those dancers are hot. Which one is she?"

"I'm not sure. Ask Jude."

"Yo, Stinky, get in here!"

Jude rolled inside, "I'll have you know I've been showering on the regular for two weeks."

Wyatt and Wayne looked at each other with wide eyes.

"What?"

"You've showered regularly?!"

"Yeah. Chicks don't dig the stink cycle."

"Anyway! So which dancer do you have a crush on at Taj Mahome Video?"

"The green one. Am I fired?"

"Na, just 'cause she's the hottest one."

"I know. I just don't know how to ask her out."

Wayne started laughing uncontrollably, "You...You're gonna ask her out?"

"No. 'Cause I don't know how."

"Shame. Anyway, check back in all the rentals."

xXx

You changed back into your regular clothes, a white tank top, black shorts, and three inch cork wedges with white straps and left work, noticing Jude and Wayne messing around in Underground Video. You chuckled a little and walked to the food court.

Jude was the most adorable guy you'd ever seen. Too bad a guy like him wouldn't date you. Mellow skaters like Jude weren't ever interested in you, the rich and popular girl.

Which was a shame, because those kinds of guys were your type for sure. Especially ones with blue eyes and blond hair.

You sighed. You and Jude just weren't meant to be.

"And I guess that's okay." You mumbled.

You walked to Burger McFlipster's and waved at Wyatt.

"Hey!"

"Hey (Name). Burger?"

"Na, just fries."

He quickly made up a medium size fry and you handed him money. You sat on the stool.

"So what's up?"

"Nothing much. How are you?"

"Could be better, but I won't complain."

"I guess that's alright."

It was silent for a little while until you spoke up again.

"I don't really have anything else to do today and I don't want to go home, so do you know where I could hang out for a while?"

"Where are your friends?"

You chuckled humorlessly, "I don't really have any. Real ones, that is. I humor the girls I hang out with at school; I don't really like them."

"Oh. Well that sucks. The gang is all working right now, so I wouldn't recommend the Lemon. Why don't you go hang out in Underground Video? Wayne won't mind, and then when Jude gets off work you can go to the Lemon with him and we should all be there by then."

"Cool! See you there?" You smiled.

Wyatt smiled back, "See you there. Later."

You stood up and munched on your fries as you walked to Underground. You smiled as you saw Wayne sleeping and Jude chilling on the couch watching a movie.

"Hi Jude!"

Jude looked over and jumped, falling off the couch, waking up Wayne.

"Dude, what the- Ohh. I'm going on break Jude, I'll be back later." Wayne said with a smirk. He left the store, leaving you both alone.

You smiled at Jude and extended your hand. He took it and you helped him up, smiling at the warmth of his hand in yours.

"So (Name). You lookin' for a movie or somethin'?" He asked, still holding your hand.

"No, Wyatt told me I should come hang out here. You don't mind, do you?"

“N-not at all, bra.”

You grinned, “So what are you up to?”

“Oh, y’know. Just… Stuff.”

You looked at the television, “Looks like you’re watching a movie. What’s it called?”

“It’s not very good, really, so I wouldn’t recommend watching it, but it’s called Transformers: Age of Extinction.”

You scrunched up your nose, “Daddy hates those movies.”

“Uh… So, uh… Wanna watch somethin’ else?” Jude asked, rubbing the back of his neck.

You smiled, “Do you have Captain America: The Winter Soldier?”

Jude grinned, “Totally! I didn’t know you liked superheroes!”

“Of course I do! They’re so cool!” You gushed, sitting down on the couch, Jude’s hand no longer in yours.

He grinned and did his signature laugh, going to go retrieve the movie, “Who’s your favorite?”

“Iron Man! What about you?”

“I try not to pick a favorite. I wanna love ‘em all equally, y’know? ‘Cause they’re all cool.”

“That’s… Really insightful, Jude. But you’ve got a point!” You said after munching on a fry.

Jude shrugged and put the DVD in, “I try and bestow my wisdom upon others.”

You just shook you head fondly and snuggled into the back of the couch, watching as Jude grabbed the remote and sat next to you. You offered him your fries.

“Hungry?”

“Only like, always.”

You giggled and watched as he took the fried food, skipping the previews and getting straight to the movie.

“I love this movie.” You whispered, “Just a bit more than I love Guardians of the Galaxy.”

“Who’s your favorite in that?”

“Oh gosh, I don’t even know! I think Rocket though.”

Jude snickered, “Mine’s Groot.”

You giggled, “Didn’t you just-“

Jude smiled at you, “Groot’s an exception, bra. Groot’s always an exception.”

“Where’s Jude?” Jen asked once she joined the gang at the Lemon, ten minutes past the usual meet up time.

Nikki shrugged, “Haven’t seen him since he went to work.”

“Last I saw he was at Underground.” Wyatt said. “Oh! That reminds me, (Name) came by earlier and I she said she didn’t have anything to do, so I told her to go hang out at Underground with Jude until his shift was over.”

The gang looked at him like he was insane.

“What?” Wyatt asked innocently.

“Are you crazy?!” Jen shouted.

“That’s totally going to get his hopes up, Wyatt.” Caitlin chastised.

“Oooh, right.” Wyatt said, regretting his actions.

Nikki sighed and stood up, “Let’s go get him before something drastic happens and he asks her out.”

The rest of the gang nodded and popped up quickly, all rushing towards Underground. They rushed in the store.

“Jude!”

You and Jude looked over at his friends, smiling.

“Hey guys!”

“’Sup, guys?”

“Jude, we need you to come with us for, uh…” Nikki blanked.

“That… Thing!” Jen improvised.

Jude blinked, “What thing?”

“Y’know, that thing we were talking about yesterday.” Wyatt said.

“Seriously, I don’t know what you guys are talkin’ about.”

You looked at your phone, “I better go home anyway, Daddy’s having company tonight. Later Jude! Thanks for watching movies and being a nerd with me.”

You smiled and gave him a quick hug before standing and heading out, waving at the gang before you did. They all blinked and looked at Jude, who looked rather annoyed.

“Are you friggin’ serious right now?” He asked lamely.

“Hehe, uh… Sorry buddy.” Jonesy said, scratching the back of his head.

Jude sighed and hung his head as he turned off the tv and put the movie back in its case, “It’s alright, dude and dudettes.”

“What were you even doing?” Jen asked.

“Watchin’ superhero movies, talkin’ ‘bout superheroes and stuff.”

Caitlin scrunched her nose, “Ew, you made her talk about guy stuff?”

“Actually she’s the one that brought it up.”

The gang looked at him wide eyed. He cocked his head to the side.

“What?”

“You mean she voluntarily talked about comic book stuff?” Jen asked, not believing it.

“Yeah. She knows even more than me, actually.”

“I don’t believe this…” Jonesy said.

“She’s really cool.” Jude said with a fond smile. “I just wish I could, y’know, date her.”

The group sighed and Nikki looked at Jude.

“Hey Jude, are you still working?”

“Well, my next shift starts soon, so I should probably just stay here.”

“Alright then. We’ll see you later, okay?”

Jude nodded and Nikki ushered the gang back to the Lemon. Once there she stood proudly.

“Starting now, we are going to work on getting (Name) and Jude together!”

“Woah, Nikki. I’m all for finding Jude a girlfriend, but (Name)?” Jonesy asked.

Nikki nodded, “He’s got it bad for her, and we’re gonna make sure she has it bad for him.”

xXx

The next day you approached the Lemon before your shift started, smiling at Caitlin.

“Hi Caitlin!”

“Hey (Name)! Are you busy this afternoon?”

“No. Why?” You asked, curious.

“You should totally come over and hang out with us!”

You smiled, “Okay! What time?”

“Hmm… Three o’clock.”

“You’ll see me there.” You said with a wink and a smile, heading off to work.

xXx

You sighed as you left work. Today was just not a good day for you. The customers were incorrigible, Blade kept flirting with you, and you just wanted to get out of there.

You smiled as you caught sight of the Big Squeeze, going and sitting in one of the empty chairs. The gang all smile at you and you waved.

“Hey guys!”

“Hey.” Nikki said with a rather mischievous grin.

“So what’s up?”

“The gang and I were thinking about goin’ and checkin’ out a movie. You in?”

“Abso-friggin-lutely! But… Where’s Jude?”

On the inside Caitlin squealed. You noticed Jude wasn’t there!

“He’s buying the tickets.”

You nodded, “Then I guess we better go, huh?”

Everyone stood up and walked to the movie theatre, the butterflies in your stomach increasing. Hopefully you’d get to sit next to Jude!

Jude smiled when he saw you guys and waved you over, “Dudes! I got the tickets!”

You all smiled and walked over to Jude. You smiled sweetly at him.

“Hey Jude! Thanks for getting the tickets.”

“No problem, bra.” He grinned.

He led you into the theatre your movie was in, the gang filing in to make sure you and Jude would be sitting next to one another. You smiled at him and he grinned back as he sat down next to you, your arms bumping as you both moved to rest them on the armrest. You blushed and pulled back.

“You… You can use it.”

“No, that’s… That’s cool, bra.”

You smiled and placed your arm on the armrest, leaning more towards your crush. He outstretched his arm and placed it on the back of your seat, glancing at you.

“Hope you don’t mind, bra.”

“Of course I don’t! You gave me the armrest, it’s only fair.”

The gang all glanced at each other. This was going much better than expected.

Soon the previews were over and the movie started. You crossed your right leg over the left, leaning more into Jude’s side, though you didn’t necessarily mean to. Jude’s smile got wider as he smelled your perfume. You were really close together!

“Hey Jude,” You whispered into his ear, successfully sending shivers down his spine.

“Yeah?”

“Can we go get some popcorn?”

“Thought you’d never ask.” He grinned.

Unbeknownst to the gang, both of you stood and headed for the exit. Your eyes quickly adjusted to the bright fluorescent lighting and you stood in the long line. You fiddled with your fingers and looked around, though you couldn’t help but keep looking back at Jude.

“Hey Jude?” You asked out of nowhere a bit abruptly.

“’Sup?”

“How would… I have a huge crush on someone. A-and I want to tell them, b-but I don’t know… how. So… What would you recommend?”

Jude shrugged and swallowed thickly, “I’d just do whatever’s on impulse, y’know?”

You nodded and grasped his hand, pulling him out of line.

“Where’re we goin’?”

You said nothing as you pulled him to the fountain area. You suddenly stopped and he looked down at you, ready to ask what was going on until you suddenly cupped his face and yanked him down to your level.

Jude was surprised when he felt your lips on his, but by no means was he pulling away. He placed his hands on your waist and pushed his lips back on yours, licking your bottom lip and sliding his tongue in smoothly.

And from a distance the gang watched, their eyes wide and mouths open. Looks like Jude wasn’t the only one crushing hard…
